Calculator has its stress on its first syllable. For nouns, the stress is usually on the first syllable except if there is a weak vowel ( /ə/ or /ɪ/) on the first syllable, then it moves to the next one. Since calculator ( /ˈkæl.kjə.leɪ.tər/) does not have a weak vowel in the first syllable, the stress is placed there.
