The answer is not correct. The rule of structural tags says if must or should or ought to is used in a sense that means necessary, the statement or question that follows will be need or needn't.

Thanks answer here should be needn't. Here's the explanation

Must sometimes means 'necessary'

In questions, do not reply with must but with need E.g

A. Must you shout when making a phone call?

And: No, I needn't ( not, I mustn't)

"Needn't" is used to indicate that something is not necessary.

"Mustn't" means that something is not allowed or prohibited, which doesn't fit in this context.

Since the teacher is saying that completing the assignment before lunch is not required, "needn't" is the better choice.

What is the difference between mustn't and shouldn't?
Mustn't = something bad will happen if you do. Shouldn't = like mustn't but the stakes are lower. Couldn't = Used in place of can't when talking about the past or a hypothetical

I think B is the correct answer

Option A, 'needn't' is correct.
It is a rule of English that when 'must' is used in the place that means necessary, needn't must be use for example, 'must we come to shop tomorrow?' No, you needn't. Therefore option A is the correct answer to the question.
