4 those who dont understand: d first trick u must use there is looking at d finite verb there which is 'mark' .then u consider its number(plural) .so,u must now know dat any subject(noun or plural) which precedes(comes b4) it would be plural-that's y we have invention.

If u observe d options meticulously;u will c dat 'process and discovery' are both singular nouns which can never go wt that verb 'mark' .(d plural of process is processes yl discovery is discoveries) .how far??

To my own understanding; A is the Answer because
Firstly what do we mean by locomotive engine? i think its cars, lorries, bicycle, keke and others so those things are invented

I don't think any of the options are correct. By the rule of concord, the option must be plural. However, each of them are singular (the plural of invention is inventions, and so on).
