Few is used when there is a very small amount of people/thing.
A Few on the otherhand is used when there are some people or thing or a very small number oc people or thing.

someone asked thst why is the answer not "a few"?

"Few" means, so small that you can't afford to share , while "a few" means not that much, but enough to spare.

Few is for countable nouns while little is for uncountable..
