correct cos the question is talking about profession e.g what is your profession? i am a tailor by profession. but if the question was referring to name that is when when you can use who,e.g if you are not Mary then who are you.

what is only used for things or general categories, not for people's profession
here they want to find out who the person is , the person's identity
