the ans should be either bay or rain
say: /sei/,seys: /seiz/
bay:/bei/
rain: /rein/
The above are the correct transcription.

note:the /i/ used for the above transcriptions is the short one not the long one which is this one🌜/i:/🌛

The correct option is "end" bcos "says" is pronounced /sez/ and end is pronounced /end/. They have the vowel sound /e/ in common

The answer in option A is the most suitable to the question. "Says",,,,,"end"

The question is wrongly composed:

The Correct Answer To This Question Is A. This Is Because The Vowel Sound In Says Is The 'e' Sound Due To The Presence Of 'ys' at the end of the word. So The 'says' is pronounced as 'seys'.

REF: Check : Say In Oxford Dictionary.

The answer is "end" because says bears the /e/ souns

The word says is transcribed as /sɛz/ and not /seiz/. Hence, end;/ɛnd/ is the correct answer.
