There's no point being confused. I failed it too on the assumption that it means sth negative since it's an unfamiliar idiom. But we must know that the meanings of idiomatic expressions are judged not by the surrounding words. (To) be home and dry is an idiom which means: to have done sth successfully, especially when it was difficult. So myschool is here correct with the B option.
