Doesn't "principal" mean someone who is the head of something like an educational institute; and a woman can also be a principal so how is 'man' the answer? Personally i don"t agree with "man" as being the answer, it has to be "head".

dont just pick the word but check the whole sentence. in a play the principal actor can also be called main actor. so "main" is correct
