This I think
should be A not D because of the preceeding preposition "the" baby's.. Implies that it's specifically a particular baby they are talking about and nothing points to multiple babies' in the sentence.

It has two answers!
"The" doesnt only work for singular nouns but still work for plural noun
e.g. The boys came here and The boy came here.
