The answer is D,

Polysyllabic words that have 'i' or 'u' in their last syllable are stressed on the penultimate syllable, i.e second to the last syllable..

An exception to this rule is that polysyllabic words ending with ous are not stressed in the penultimate but antipenultimate syllable, i.e third syllable from the end ...
