The answer is A. Would is used to say what someone intended to do or expected to happen

The most common situations when we use “would” are:
To describe an imaginary situation. ...
To form conditional sentences. ...
To express modest request and proposal. ...
In reported speech. ...
To express likings, hearted and preferences for something. ...
To give an opinion on uncertain things. ...
To describe past habits. ...
After the word wish.
Rule no 1
Since we are expecting the arrival I think would could be more suitable

hey, if DAT were a report speech, dy wud HV used "said" instead of "says". the "says" there denotes an assertion that her hubby will certainly cm bk on Friday. You CNT use a past tense wen u expressing smtin DAT will definitely happen in d future; is jxt like wen one says " tmrow is Sunday, I would go to church" . lol.
...

The question is kinda complicated bcoz of the "says"... in real sense nothing really suits in#....
