The answer is C. "Hardly", here means "almost not". So "he had hardly spoken before the bell rang" means immediately he spoke, the bell rang. This happened so close that the two processes seemed simultaneous.

abeg d correct answer is B jawe ,how it should C? ,He hardly speak is nt mean he stop speaking ,is it?,if u can explain y c x d correct ans

The answer should be b
b is very much related to the question
the computer chose c but i do not think it is correct cause option c says the bell rang very soon af5er he spoke, emphasis on "after he spoke" but the question is he hardly began to speak meaning he just started speaking or he hasn't said a lot when the bell rang but ans c is literally saying he has said all he has to say before the bell rang while b is still very much acceptable "he was still speaking"
so my school pls help with an explanation as to why your answer is c or do the needful by inputing the correct option.
Thanks and i await your response.
