Close up: something very near or in a clise range.
Close down: to cease a business or operation permanently
close off: to cease a business or operation temporarily

You sit 'on' the bed and you lie 'in' the bed.
But Patients are being laid on the bed because they are sick, they can't lie themselves, so they need to be laid (past tense of lay)
Note: Lie is done by oneself, lay is done by someone else.....
eg: go and lie in the bed
go and lay the baby on the bed

on is correct because 'on' is used when something is placed on top of an object
so in this concept the patient are placed on top of the bed so option B is correct

Pls dnt mind them o. They either closeddown(permanently) or closeup(temporarily) a company and as for patients they are in bed while those nt sick lay on a bed(may be they want to just rest)
