Lending is giving out while borrowing is taking something from someone with the intention of returning it...
The boy lent me his book..
My friend borrowed my book..

I believe the correct answer to be D
Borrow means to get something from someone while lend means to give out something to someone.
My friend his the one i gave something out to ( I lend him and he borrowed it). so my friend has borrowed mine while the other person kindly lend me his book

The selected answer is wrong:
The correct answer is option B. According to the book, "The invisible teacher by Dele Ashade" (2012/2013 Edition) page 81, to borrow is to get something for your use from someone else while lend is to give somtheing out...
Please make correction as soon as possible. Thanks!
REF: The invisible teacher by Dele Ashade" (2012/2013 Edition) page 81

It's B 🙂
I was actually thinking D was very correct till I was proved wrong by A - Z Jamb Use of English by Dele Ashade
Remember, this is exam... Whatever standard they give, we have to accept cos every mark is important.
According to Ashade, "Borrow" means to get something from someone with the intention of returning it while "Lend" means to give out something to someone.

To further elaborate, the terms 'lend' and 'borrow' could be compared to the terms 'give' and 'take' respectively. 'To lend' could simply mean 'to give' and 'to borrow' could simply mean 'to take'. One could replace 'lend' and 'borrow' in the gaps with give and take as follows:
Kindly 'give' me your book because my friend has 'taken' mine.
This example is given to supply more evidence to my claims.

According to Oxford's online dictionary, to 'borrow' is to 'take and use (something belonging to someone else) with the intention of returning it', while to 'lend' is to 'grant to (someone) the use of (something) on the understanding that it will be returned'.
From this, it could be deduced that the answer to this question is (D), as 'your book' in the sentence is going to be lent to 'me' because 'my friend' borrowed 'mine'.
Thank you.

in simpler terms
to lend is to give to borrow is to take
simply put
kindly give me your book because my friend has taken mine
option D is very correct

To lend something is to give. Example Lend me your book not Borrow me your book.
To borrow is to collect. Example I have borrowed his pen not I have lent his pen.
So the correct answer is D. Kindly lend me your book my friend has borrowed mine.
