The correct answer is "The police say they are".. The police is an unmarked plural word because it is not easy to know the plural.. E.gs of other words like this are " The folk, the poor, the youth..

guy d answer here is d police say they are .the reason to this is because they are not referring to one police with d inclusion of 'the'. and more over u can not pluralise police. because they are not in one entity. they are form of organisation compiling two or more people. just like army, navy, air force.

The correct answer is D ( the police says it is)
