Every rational consumers goal is to maximise his total utility and he can keep buy more and more of a product to get more satisfaction. But at that moment, when he feels disgusted and uninterested in the product, he will want to decrease the price even worse, stay off the product.
Here, he balances his marginal utility level by the price level ( i.e he spent more, to get more of the product (marginal utility), but when he loses interest, he will refuse to spend the same amount on the product he is disgusted with (I.e low marginal utility = low interest to get that product)
