management. They translate the strategic goals set by upper management into actionable plans for their teams.
Formulation of objectives and strategies is typically the role of top management. Review and appraisal of operational
results and review of master plans, programmes and budgets can be part of the roles of both middle and top
management, but they are not the primary role of middle managers.
