Amos 1:1 and Hosea 1:1 both mention Jeroboam, the son of Joash as the king of Israel (Samaria) during their prophetic ministries.
Amos 1:1 (RSV) – “The words of Amos, who was among the shepherds of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.”
Hosea 1:1 (RSV): “The word of the Lord that came to Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.”
Jeroboam, the son of Nebat was the first king of the northern kingdom of Israel after the division, but he reigned long before Amos and Hosea.
