THEMES FROM THE OLD TESTAMENT
CIRCUMSTANCES UNDER WHICH JOSEPH WAS SET FREE FROM PRISON (GENESIS 41:1-44).
Below are the expected points candidates should construct their points from:
i. After his encounter with Potiphar’s wife, Joseph was imprisoned.
ii. While in prison, Joseph interpreted the dreams of the chief butler and the chief baker of the king of Egypt.
iii. Two years later Pharaoh had two dreams.
iv. In the first dream Pharaoh saw seven giant and thin cows.
v. And to his surprise, the thin ones swallowed the fat ones.
vi. In the second dream seven thin ears of grain swallowed seven plump ears of grain.
vii. Pharaoh was disturbed because none of his magicians and wise men could interpret the dreams.
viii. It was at this time that the King’s chief butler remembered who interpreted his dream in prison.
ix. The butler then told Pharaoh of Joseph’s ability to interpret his dream.
x. Pharaoh instantly requested that Joseph be brought out of the prison.
