In the story of the stilling of the storm, Jesus rebuked
In the story of the stilling of the storm (found in Mark 4:35–41, Matthew 8:23–27, and Luke 8:22–25), Jesus was in a boat with His disciples when a violent storm arose. The disciples, afraid of drowning, woke Him. Jesus then rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” (Mark 4:39, RSV). The wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
This action shows Jesus’ authority over nature. After calming the storm, He questioned His disciples' faith, but He directly rebuked the sea and the wind, not the disciples themselves.
