In 2 Samuel 3:7-8 (NKJV), Ishbosheth accuses Abner of having relations with Rizpah, one of Saul’s concubines, which was seen as an assertion of claim over the throne:
"Then Saul’s son Ishbosheth said to Abner, ‘Why have you gone in to my father’s concubine?’ And Abner became very angry at the words of Ishbosheth, and said, ‘Am I a dog’s head that belongs to Judah?
