According to James, Christians should avoid partiality so that they would not be
In James 2:8-9 (RSV), James warns against showing partiality because it goes against the "royal law" of loving one's neighbour. He states:
"If you really fulfil the royal law, according to the scripture, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself,’ you do well. But if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors."
This means that showing favouritism or discrimination makes a Christian guilty of breaking God's law. Therefore, Christians should treat all people fairly to remain obedient to God's commandments.
