When carbon dioxide gas passes through lime water (Ca(OH)\(_2\)), it reacts to form calcium carbonate (CaCO\(_3\)), which is a milky substance.CO\(_2\) is obtained from Trioxocarbonates(IV). Thus, calcium carbonate is a trioxocarbonate(IV).
