guys myschool is correct, tinture of iodine is just iodine dissolved in ethanol used in dressing wound, thanks

The correct answer is: D. benzene

Explanation:
Iodine and naphthalene are nonpolar substances, so they dissolve well in nonpolar solvents due to the principle of "like dissolves like."

Benzene is a nonpolar solvent, making it suitable for dissolving nonpolar substances like iodine and naphthalene.

Carbon (IV) sulphide is also nonpolar but less commonly used compared to benzene.

Ethanol and water are polar solvents, so they are not suitable for dissolving nonpolar substances like iodine and naphthalene.

So, Myschool please make ammendment.

ethanol is polar due to the oh grp present thus benzene should be the right answer

The suitable solvent for both iodine and naphthalene is:

**A. Carbon (IV) sulphide**

Explanation:
- Iodine and naphthalene are both non-polar substances. They dissolve best in non-polar solvents due to the "like dissolves like" principle. Carbon (IV) sulphide is a non-polar solvent, making it suitable for dissolving both iodine and naphthalene.
- Ethanol and water are polar solvents, and benzene is less polar than carbon (IV) sulphide, making them less suitable for dissolving iodine and naphthalene.

Myschool you are wrong oo....Im not happy with this 😔. Napthalene can dissolve in benzene as it is benzene derivative and iodine can also dissolve in benzene too. How can ethanol dissolve naphthalene ?
Below is the attacthed evidence

A is ghe correct answer. benzene and ethanol cannot dissolve the two of them. infact there is no wa its ethanol .

Iodine can be dissolved in ethanol and benzene
napthalene is made up of 2 benzene rings and can be dissolved by benzene and cannot not be dissolved by ethanol
so considering the two variables ( naphthalene and Iodine) the correct answer is to be benzene. Option D
