Also,oxidation also means addition of oxygen,hydrogen was just H+ ,then it was oxidized to H20

Here is an explanation:

if an element is oxidized its oxidation number increases in the positive direction.However the oxidation number decreases when it is reduced.The oxidation number of H2 on the left hand side is zero and +1 on the right hand side,an increase.H2 is oxidized to water by CUO
