the answer is C

at the mark X Mg had all reacted and so the rate of reaction falls and when it levels up, it shows that no more hydrogen gas is been produced from the reaction

because HCl was in excess
and magnesium is reacting is in a smaller quantity to that of HCl
when they both react the smaller one which i s magnesium will get used up first
And HCL has no other element to react with so the rate of reaction stops

At point X, all the magnesium has completely reacted but There is still some HCl left in the beaker because the acid was in excess. Since there is no more magnesium to react with the HCl, the reaction stops completely and so the graph stops increasing because there is no more magnesium left to react, the correct answer is:
