Can a Pipette measure distinctive volumes i.e can a 25 centimeter cube graduated pipette be used to measure volume other than 25?, Thats no!..
But on the contrary a measuring cylinder(M.C) can be used to measure any volume in as much as it it up to the required i.e if we have a 25 centimeter cube graduated M.C it can be used to measure lesser than 25 accurately.
Though there are pipette of 5, 10, 15, even 0.5, but it is a specific measuring device bcos its line of calibraton/graduation is Only one(specified at the required mark) unlike M.C that has more calibration lines...

A pipette can only be used to measure only one fixed volume of a liquid usually a base. A measuring cylinder on the other hand can be used to measure varying, specific volumes of a liquid
