Sulphur(iv)oxide is an acid anhydride;ie an oxide that dissolves in water to form an acid.Carbon(ii)oxide is a neutral oxide,same as Nitrogen(ii)oxide:their dissolutions in water has no chemical reaction.Copper(ii)oxide dissolves in water to give Copper(ii)hydroxide which is an alkaline solution.
