Here is an explanation:

CuSO4 is the right answer because it is the compound that is reduced. It oxidises Zinc(i.e it gives Zn oxygen). Remember: addition of oxygen=oxidation; giver of the oxygen is the oxidising agent. You can read more about this in New School Chemistry by Osei Yaw Ababio.
