Group VII elements commonly called the halogens have the following properties;

Electron affinity which is the gain of electrons , and it's increases across the period and decreases down the group (i.e from left to right) , this also means that fluorine has the highest electron affinity.

There are diatomic : group VII elements form a diatomic molecules as in F2, Cl2, Br2 , I2...

Group 7 elements are also a good oxidizing agents since the readily accept electron from the metals like sodium, magnesium etc..

There are highly electronegative unlike any other group in the periodic table, as such their electronegativity values decreases down the group and increases across the period. Fluorine has the highest electronegativity values followed by chlorine, bromine, iodine and astatine..

They have high ionization potential than any other groups in the periodic table. Their ionization potential decreases down the group and increases across the period..

So the option E says the have low ionization potential and that is fault, from my explanation they have high ionization potential..

So , option E is correct ✅ ✅✅✅✅
