-2 +14 +n =2x3 (the chromium, number of mole x charge)
-12+n=6
n=6-12
n=-6

note: always multiply the number of moles With the charge

total O= -2 x 7= -14
Overall charge= -2
Therefore, the 2 Cr atoms together must be +12
Each Cr= +6
So Cr changes from +6 in dichromate to +3 in cr3+. This means each Cr atom gains 3 electrons (from +6 to+3)
2 Cr atoms: 2 x 3= 6 electrons total
Therefore, n=6
