Myschool is correct, the formular for iron rust is Fe2O3.xH2O. Calculating the oxidation number from option "C" shows that the oxn no of Fe is +3 (Fe3+), hich has a reddish brown colour.

The formular for Iron rust is Fe2O3.xH20 while the reddish colour comes from Fe3+according to the question.so Fe203.3H20 is wrong

I'm just tired me thinking the formula is fe203.xH20 but coming to think of it x is the unknown variable so it can be replaced with any number... I'm just saying
