Answer is (A) The anode is deficient in electrons. Myschool please correct this.

(A) is d right ans.Oxidation is d loss of electron, electron is lost at/to anode because it is electron deficient

i think before the oxidation could take place at the anode, it will has excess electron before it can be deficient in electron.(i.e; before it can loose electron). in my own opinion i go for option C

Key Concept:
In electrolysis, oxidation always occurs at the anode, and reduction occurs at the cathode.
Oxidation:
Oxidation means loss of electrons.
So, substances lose electrons at the anode.
The Anode:
In electrolysis, the anode is usually connected to the positive terminal of the power source. Because of this, it has a positive charge and therefore attracts electrons away from the species that come into contact with it.
Now, the options:
A. is deficient in electrons →
Correct!
The anode is electron-deficient (it’s positively charged), so it pulls electrons from species, causing oxidation.
B. is deficient in protons →
Irrelevant in this context.
C. has excess electrons →
That would be true for the cathode, where reduction occurs.
D. has attraction for positive ions →
That describes the cathode, which is negative and attracts positive ions (cations).
Correct Answer: A. is deficient in electrons
Let me know if you'd like help remembering this with a trick or mnemonic!

The correct answer is B. Anode is the positive electrode. They need to be electron deficient before they can attract electron rich anion. Th electron rich anion moves to the anode and lose its electron and become neutral
2Cl~ + 2e~ ——> Cl2

During electrolysis, oxidation occurs at the anode because the anode is deficient in electrons. This is because the anode is the site where electrons are lost by the substance undergoing oxidation, making it electron-deficient.
Answer: A. is deficient in electrons

I think C is very correct because before you can give something out, the thing has to be in excess

The answer should be option D because anode is negatively charged and positive ion migrate to the anode during electrolysis
