Reveiw the question please. The molecules of graphite (an allotrope of carbon) is held together by weak Vander Waal's forces.
However, Crystals of diamond contain only carbon atoms, and these are linked to each other by covalent bonds in a giant three-dimensional network. Each carbon atom is surrounded tetrahedrally by four bonds

omg..graphite as an allotrope of carbon is hexahedral in shape because 3 out of all the 4 available valence electron in carbon is involved in bonding COVALENTLY...COVALENTLY!...please review this@myschool
