you knw that phosphorus is number 15 in the periodic table so it is -3
3p+[4*-3]=3
3p -12=3
3p=3+12
3p=15
:-) p=15/3

First of all, the question is wrong. the real ion is PO4^3- . So the solution goes thus

PO4 = -3
P + (-2×4) = -3
p - 8 = -3
P = -3 + 8
P = +5
