The Correct answer is MX2 Option A
Take for instance MO is CAO : calcium having a valency of 2 and oxygen also having a valency of two and both neutraliziing each other to become CAO
Now X20; X having a valency of 1 and O having a valency of two giving X2O
Now: Ca=2
X=1
cross multiply you get CaX2 take Ca as M you get MX2 (Option A)

Wrong answer!
M has a valency of 1 and X also has 1.
The valency you're seeing in X2O, that 2 is not for X but for the Oxygen attached.
So therefore,M and X have one valency respectively.
So,C is correct 💯.

M gave 2 electrons to oxygen and x gave 1 to oxygen twice so switching valence electrons you get MX2
