d answer is CH3 because u divide d ratio by smallest mole which is 0.36/0.12 which gives us 3.so d Mole ratio is 3:1 which makes d empirical formula CH3.

If no of moles of C = 0.12
and no of moles of H = 0.36
C = 0.12÷0.12 while H = 0.36÷0.12
Therefore C = 1 and H = 3

The correct answer should be CH4. 0.36 0.12



Divide by the lower number you have

You'll only have that kind of ratio in CH4 not CH3.
