The fountain water would be red because HCL is acidic so it would react the blue litmus in the water which would turn red .

The colour depends entirely on which gas is being dissolved and the indicator used:
Red: Ammonia dissolves in water containing a litmus indicator, or dissolves in blue litmus, turning it red.
Pink/Purple: Phenolphthalein indicator is used with Ammonia turning the water deep pink/purple.
Blue: Litmus indicator turns blue when ammonia is dissolved in it.
