According to grahams law of diffusion R1/R2 = √m2/√m1

R1(X) = twice Y = 2*Y = 2Y
R2(Y) = Y
M1 = 32
M2 = ?(unknown)

Then we substitute
2Y/Y = √m2 / √32
2/1 = √m2 / √32 (Y canceled Y)
2² / 1² = m2 / 32 (Square root crosed the equation nd changed to square)
4/1 = m2 / 32
M2 = 32*4
M2 = 128
Hope u understand

According to gay lussac law when comparin d rates of diffu.... Of two gases Let Ry=1,Rx=2,My=y,Mx=32. Therefore: Ry/Rx=sqrot(Mx)/sqrot(My)
;put in ur values
1/2=sqrot-32/sqrot-y
;to remve sqrot & make y subject of formular; squ both side~
: (1/2)all squ = (sqrot-32/sqrot-y) all squ;
;all sqrot cancelled,so u ve. 1/4 = 32/y
cross multipy;
Therefore y= 128 ,My =128.QED
