i agree with myschool on this. Nitrogen (N2) is the major component of air (around 78%) and isn't necessarily a product of smelting.

this should be D hot air is usually used in smelting furnaces for oxidation after all the Oxygen is used up N2 is released back with the other gaseous wastes including SO2 and N2
