Correct answer is D. When one mole of alkyne (ethyne to be precise) which is a triple carbon to carbon bond react with hydrogen iodide, the hydrogen and iodide will bond to each carbon thereby forming an ethinic bond. Two moles of HI is needed to completely break down ethyne to ethane.
Reaction of two moles of ethyne and HI respectively will also give ethenic bond, three moles too and so on.

Yes YUSUFOSHI u ar correct,the answer is wrong.....CH=-CH(g) +HI(g)---->CH2=CHI(g)
