Nop. valence electron is the number of electrons on d "outermost" shell. so if u check, the electronic configuration is 2,8,5. 5 is d valence electron.

valence should be d number of electron remaining to fill an orbit or the number of electrons that has filled the outer orbit so the answer should be 3 or 5
