so2 is an oxixizing agent because it is undergoes reduction as the oxygen atom is removed from it

easy way to know and remember about it is simple using the acroymn oilrig
o stands for oxidation i for is and l is loss while r is reduction i for is and g is gain so putting it together it becomes oxidation is loss of electron while reduction is gain of electron so guys this is how i learnt it before because it was confusing me but now it is really clear so try it and check if it helped you
