An amphoteric oxide is one that can act as both an acid and a base. Among the options provided, the oxides that can exhibit amphoteric properties are Aluminum oxide (Al2O3) and Zinc oxide (ZnO). Therefore, the correct answer is option B: Aluminum oxide, Calcium oxide, Zinc oxide.

non of d options is correct bcox of the content of the otp provided so myschool review this ...opt says (Al,Ca,,&Zn oxides. in which calcium oxide there is a basic oxide only )

The correct option is βœ… B. Aluminium oxide, Calcium oxide, Zinc oxide.
Explanation
An amphoteric oxide is a compound that can react with both acids and bases to produce salt and water.
Aluminium oxide (
): Reacts with acids to form aluminium salts and with strong bases to form aluminates.
Zinc oxide (
): Reacts with acids to form zinc salts and with strong bases to form zincates.
Calcium oxide (
): Unlike the other two, this is a basic oxide. It reacts with acids but not typically with bases.

Option B is the correct choice because it is the only group provided that contains two amphoteric oxides (
and
).
Why other options are incorrect
A. sodium oxide, Zinc oxide, Magnesium oxide: Contains only one amphoteric oxide (
). Sodium oxide (
) and Magnesium oxide (
) are strongly basic.
❌ C. Potassium oxide, Lithium oxide, Carbon monoxide: Contains zero amphoteric oxides. Potassium oxide (
) and Lithium oxide (
) are basic, while Carbon monoxide (
) is a neutral oxide.
❌ D. Silver oxide, Lead oxide, Sodium oxide: Contains only one amphoteric oxide (
). Silver oxide and Sodium oxide are basic.
❌ E. Sulphur dioxide, Aluminium oxide, Carbon monoxide: Contains only one amphoteric oxide (
). Sulphur dioxide (
) is an acidic oxide, and Carbon monoxide (
) is neutral.

The ans given is wrong. All the oxides in B. are solids while E. is the ans since carbonmonoxide and sulphurdioxide are atmospheric gases
