2C + 02 = 2CO

2 : 1 : 2

2vol. of carbon react with 1vol. of oxygen to produce 2vol. of carbon ii oxide.

1dm^3 of 02 = 2 dm^3 of CO

10 dm^3 of 02 = X dm^3 of CO

by cross multiplication :

X = 2*10 = 20 dm^3 of CO

2C + O2 ->2CO

from the equation 2 vols of co was produced by 1 vol of o2 den 10 dm3 of o2 will produce 2×10=20dm3 of co

Solution...?

The balanced chemical equation for the reaction between carbon and oxygen to form carbon dioxide is:

C(s) + O2(g) → CO2(g)

According to the equation, one mole of carbon reacts with one mole of oxygen to produce one mole of carbon dioxide. The volume of a gas at constant temperature and pressure is directly proportional to the number of moles of gas. Therefore, the ratio of the volumes of carbon dioxide produced to oxygen consumed is 1:1.

So, if 10 dm³ of oxygen reacts with carbon, the volume of carbon dioxide produced will also be 10 dm³. Therefore, the correct answer is D. 10 dm³.
