ZnO + CO ––> Zn + CO2

1. Every Free Element=0
2. Every Compound without an Ion=0

Now for ZnO, notice that O= –2 so Zn= 2+ to make the Compound equal 0
Then for Zn=0 (ref to 1.)
If you dont know what this means, use your number line.
Zn went from +2 to 0 so using your number line, it went to the left hand side (Reduction)
