D is the correct answer
Na is higher than H in the series so H is discharged
Cl is only preferentially discharged over OH and any other when it is in concentrated form so the right answer is truly D

In the electrochemical series, prefrential discharge increases down the seriez, xo since H+ is lower, it is discharged in place of Na+. In the anions series, electronegativity increases up d group, xo since Cl- is higher, it is prefrentially discharged instead of OH

Are u guys serious, u are all talking trash. The right answer is A. Check electrolysis of brine on Ababio.
at anode: chlorine ion is discharged
at cathode: sodium ion is discharged
All of u should take note including@myschool, the solution is concentrated(KEYWORD), that is no or very little H2O, as a result, there is no competition with H+ and OH-.
Even though it was dilute, the answer would have still not been D rather C. I am disappointed in guys. please make this correction in no time @myschool.

note in the cathode sodium is concentrated there for h will discharge and in ankde chlorine will be discharged. this is according to factors affecting discharge of electrons

A and not D

sincerely its not correct, well Hydrogen is preferentially discharged in place of sodium, but in the case of chlorine, OH is preferentially discharged to Chlorine... so the Answer is wrong...
