Conductivity always decreases with decrease in concentration both, for weak and strong electrolytes. This can be explained by the fact that the number of ions per unit volume that carry the current in a solution decreases on dilution. The molar conductivity increases with decrease in concentration. So option B is the answer. Myschool should please correct this.

As the concentration of electrolyte decreases
A.) Concentration decrease (directly proportional)
B.)Molar concentration increases (inversely proportional)

conductivity and molar conductivity change with the concentration of the electrolyte. Conductivity always decreases with decrease in concentration both, for weak and strong electrolytes.
@Myschool please take note of this

As the concentration decreases, the conductivity increases
Please look up to this..... The answer here is wrong

B is actually the answer. As the concentration decreases the conductivity also decreases while the part you guys are mixing it up this, as the concentration decreases the molar conductivity increases

Sure, here's a more detailed explanation:

Conductivity in electrolyte solutions is primarily due to the presence of ions that can carry electrical charge. When the concentration of ions in the solution decreases, there are fewer charge carriers available to conduct electricity. As a result, the overall conductivity of the solution decreases.

This relationship between concentration and conductivity is described by the Nernst-Einstein equation, which states that conductivity is directly proportional to the concentration of ions in the solution.

Therefore, as the concentration of an electrolyte reduces, the conductivity decreases because there are fewer ions available to carry electrical charge, resulting in decreased conductivity.

THE FACT IS AS THE CONCENTRATION INCREASES, THE CONDUCTIVITY REDUCES. THEY ARE INVERSELY PROPORTIONAL.

I just searched it on the net now.

electrolyte conduct electricity by mobile ions which increases in conductivity on dilution,so the conductivity increases when the concentration reduces or the more its diluted

Specific Conductivity decreases with a decrease in concentration. Since the number of ions per unit volume that carry current in a solution decrease on dilution. Hence, concentration and conductivity are directly proportional to each other.

@myschool, do well to correct the question, it should be molar conductivity and not Conductivity.

hence as molar conductivity increase, the conc. of the electrolyte Decreases

"The concentration of strong electrolytes decreases slightly with increasing concentration, that is, it increases slightly with increasing dilution. However, the conductivity of weak electrolytes increases considerably with increasing dilution or decreasing concentration"

This is an except from the textbook

Conductivity and Dilution Given the textbook context:

As concentration decreases (or dilution increases), conductivity:

Increases slightly for strong electrolytes

Increases considerably for weak electrolytes

In both cases, conductivity increases with dilution.

So, the correct answer would be C. increases.
