Here is an explanation:
Lets use the elimination method to answer this question.
Elements in the same period have the same number of electron shells and elements in the same group have the same number of valence electron therefore eliminating options A and C. The non-metallic properties of elements increase across each period, eliminating option D. This leaves option B as the correct answer.
REF: New School Chemistry, chapter 8, page 136.

D correct ans is B,as 4 c,wen more electrons r added, d shell tends to get smaller in size then they cnt b d same. While 4 d,the non metallic properties increases causing increase in electronegativity.so B is d ans.

The statement that is correct about the periodic table is statement C. Elements in the same group (vertical column) have the same number of electron shells. Elements in the same period (horizontal row) have different numbers of valence electrons. The number of valence electrons does not increase or decrease systematically across a period. And while non-metallic properties tend to increase from left to right across the table, they do not necessarily decrease across each period. It's easy to confuse different elements in the same period with those in the same group.

The question supposed to be which of these is not true about elements in the periodic table, then B is the answer but they said which of these is true about the periodic table unfortunately AC&D are correct while B is not

u guys shud read d questn wel. they said whch of these statement abt periodic table is correct.the ans is C,
this is so becos element in the same period has d same numbr of electron shell.
BUT
element in the same group has the same number of valence electron,i.e d same numbr of electron in their outermost shell

the question is supposed to be which is not and not which is because b,c,d are all true of the periodic table

sorry but b is not the correct answer it is c this question supposed to be anyone one that is not . what are u guys doing

element of the same period have the same number of shell not of the same group so it's not C. the ans is B because valence electrons is the outermost electron which increases across the period e.g valence electron for lithium is 1(atomic no is 3) and for beryllium is 2(atomic no is 4)

MYSCHOOL is now f**king up. If pyruvate and alcohol are produced, what then is the essence of fermentation if not to produce energy?
