Potassium burns with lilac flame.
In the reaction with barium chloride solution, the white precipitate formed is Barium tetraoxosulphate (VI) which is obviously insoluble in excess of the dilite acid, otherwise it won't be a precipitate.
This is a typical test for tetraoxosuphates (VI).
